…about the Gumoil process

Gumoil is a unique and captivating alternative photography process that combines oil paint with the world of photography. This method involves coating a specialized paper with a layer of Gum Arabic, and a light sensitive emulsion. Through a process of exposure to ultraviolet light, a careful washing, and then an adding and removal of oil paint, the image gradually emerges. Blurring the boundary between the photographic and the painterly arts, the mesmerizing result can showcase rich, subtle colors and a soft luminosity that is truly enchanting.
