Gumoils, 2025-2026

Gumoils is an ongoing body of work that explores the space at the intersection of photography, painting, and the physical object. Beginning with photographic images i transform each work by hand through the Gumoil process, using oil pigment, exposure, removal and reworking to alter the original image. Creating unique, one-of-a-kind photographic works rendered with oil paint.

The resulting works are singular photographic objects-images shaped as much by the unpredictability of the process as by any artistic decisions. Familiar photographs become fragmented, obscured and reimagined, questioning photography’s traditional role as a fixed record of reality.
